On June 28th, 2025, Caroline and Karl celebrated their marriage with the sweetest front yard wedding under a beautiful white tent at the bride's family home in Bayside, Wisconsin. Surrounded by love, prayers, and the blessings of longtime neighbors, their day was deeply rooted in faith and community. All captured on a mix of digital and film.
The couple met at church, and their families joyfully came together to support their union. In a lovely gesture of thoughtfulness, Caroline even wrote a note to each neighbor, giving them a heads-up about the celebration and inviting their support. Not a single complaint came in, only love and encouragement. Growing up in that very home, one can only assume that many neighbors had watched Caroline go from a little girl into a beautiful young lady she is today.
Capturing Caroline getting ready in her childhood home with her 3 sisters, and parents, has been one of the most emotional and special getting ready moments I have captured so far.
a Casual first look with dad
This was not in the timeline and happened so naturally I could barely contain my excitement. Caroline is the second of four daughters to get married, and her dad’s reaction when he saw her in her dress was everything. The emotion, the pride, the love—it all came through in one genuine, heart-melting moment that none of us will forget.
This situation also shows a great use of having two photographers on site to get different angles.
Caroline and Karl had a sweet and meaningful ceremony at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Whitefish Bay. Right after the “I do’s,” we captured family photos right up front at the same pews where they exchanged their vows making it easy for family members.
After the service, we headed just a few minutes away to Doctor’s Park for a few bridal portraits. The light, the lake breeze, and the relaxed energy made it the perfect spot to capture those joyful post-ceremony moments.
One thing to note, as the photographer: I wasn’t allowed to take photos during the ceremony after the procession, which we found out the day of. Every church and pastor has different guidelines, and in this case, I was only permitted to shoot from the last pew and the choir loft. It was a bit of a curveball, but we made it work beautifully!
